Returns, exchanges and right of withdrawal

Your opinions as a Smart in the dark customer are highly valued! Therefore, we ask that you contact us should you have any questions or concerns. As our customer, we want to ensure that you are always satisfied. Unfortunately, you may regret your purchase for a variety of reasons, or simply just not want the item. Therefore, we have gathered all of the information you need to know regarding how to cancel a purchase, exchange a product, or make a complaint below.

30-day right of return!

Your satisfaction as a Smart in the dark customer is extremely important to us. For this reason, we always offer you the right to return your order within 30 days, which means that within 30 days after we have dispatched your order to you, you must notify us if you regret your purchase. This must occur in writing, via post or via email to hello@smartinthedark.com. Don’t forget your order number! For hygiene reasons, the item must not be used, only tried on. You must send it with the original packaging, i.e. all price tags, labels and packaging that your product was delivered in.

Smart in the dark reserves the right to deduct from the purchase amount if the item has been tested for a longer period of time, or shows signs of wear and/or not all of the labels and packaging is included. You as a customer are responsible for the product until we receive it. Therefore, we recommend sending returns using a traceable shipping method. We do not pay for postage on returned packages. You as the customer are responsible for return shipping should you regret a purchase.

Refunds

Refunds will always be given promptly, and no later than 30 days after we have approved your return/complaint in accordance with Swedish law. If you regret a purchase, you are responsible for any return shipping fees.

Exchanges

Please note that Smart in the dark offers exchanges for colour and/or size but does not exchange one product for another. When exchanging an item, you are responsible for the return shipping costs. We will, of course, cover the cost of sending the replacement item back to you. If we have sent you an incorrect product, we will cover the return shipping costs. In such cases, we will send the correct item along with a prepaid return shipping label that you can easily attach to your package and send back to us.

Please note that once you exchange an item, you no longer have the right of withdrawal.

Complaints

Despite our meticulous quality control of each product, it may occasionally happen that items have defects. If you receive a defective or incorrectly delivered item, please contact us as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days if the item was damaged upon delivery.

In the case of a complaint, we will investigate the product. We will, of course, cover the shipping costs for incorrect deliveries and complaints. A refund will always be processed promptly, but no later than 30 days after we have approved your return/complaint in accordance with Swedish legislation.

Right of Withdrawal

Your satisfaction as a customer is extremely important to us. Therefore, we always offer a 30-day right of withdrawal, which is in accordance with the statutory withdrawal period. This means that within 30 days after we have shipped your delivery, you must notify us in writing of your withdrawal. This can be done by emailing hello@smartinthedark.com. Please include your order number!

The item should be carefully tried on, and the original packaging should be included. That is, it should not be used but only carefully tried on for hygiene reasons. Always include the original packaging and any tags. A deduction from the total amount may be made if the item is deemed to have been used carelessly and/or if the original packaging and tags are not returned.

The depreciation is assessed based on the item’s condition and whether labels/tags and packaging are included. To be entitled to a full refund, the item should only have been used to the extent that would be acceptable in a physical store. Therefore, you should ensure before sending the item that it is in the same condition as a physical store would accept.

We reserve the right to make deductions from the purchase price if the item has been tried on for an extended period or shows signs of wear and/or if all labels and packaging are not included. You, as the customer, are responsible for the product until it reaches us, so please consider using a traceable shipping method. Please note that we do not accept packages sent with cash on delivery. Always contact us before making an exchange/return/complaint. For returns or exchanges, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.

If you have made a purchase that qualifies for free shipping, you will be charged for the shipping costs upon return. The same applies if you return an item so that your total order falls below the threshold for free shipping.

After we have received your item and verified that the item and packaging are not damaged/used, we will process a refund for part or all of the purchase price (with the exception where the item is deemed unsellable, in which case no refund will be made). The refund will be processed promptly within 30 days after we have received and approved your return. If you paid with a PayPal account, the money will be refunded to that account. If you paid with a VISA or Mastercard via PayPal, the refund will be made to the card you used for the order.

Unclaimed packages will be charged a fee of SEK 150.

In the case of an exchange, this is considered an acceptance, and the right of withdrawal no longer applies. If you still wish to return the item, you will be charged SEK 199 for shipping and handling.

Depreciation

As of June 13, 2014, a new law applies stating that you, as a consumer, do not have the full right to receive the entire amount for the item in return. If the item has been handled carelessly and lost its value, you, as the consumer, are financially responsible.

Depreciation is assessed based on the item’s condition and whether labels/tags and packaging are included. To be entitled to a full refund, the item should only have been used to the extent that would be acceptable in a physical store. Therefore, you should ensure before sending the item that it is in the same condition as a physical store would accept.

You, as the buyer, are responsible for depreciation if the item has been handled in a way that was not necessary to determine its characteristics and nature. You should be able to try the item in the same way as you would in a physical store. If the item has, contrary to expectations, been tried on in a manner other than stated above, the item is considered used, which means you may only receive part of or no refund at all.

Any depreciation will be assessed after we have received the item and made an evaluation. Therefore, do not forget to include the original packaging as well as labels and tags.
